Happy almost August! So this is a very exciting blog entry for me and I hope for you too! For one, it was a trip I took back in March with LB who has now been gone almost 60 days & I miss her dearly but in the last 3 hours over 137 texts we have made plans for another 4-5 trips next year so not everything is awful (Hang around to find out if any of them will actually take place). Second, this was the beginning of my "blogging/instagram/I like to travel/take photos and write" so I am very excited to share the details of this trip with you. Hi there! Me again. No I am not about to write about another travel adventure but I am here to tell you about a different kind of adventure. So if you’ve been reading the news, checking social media or chatting to literally anyone, you know that Dominican Rep has been getting a lot of attention lately and not the good kind. Let me preface this entry with my opinion - If you have plans to travel to DR in the immediate future you might want to check out a different country with maybe slightly less unexplained deaths in the last few months ( for full list of travel advisories, click  here . I warn you there are quiet a few places on the list but don’t get discouraged from traveling my friends ). I also should then mention that quiet a good number of my Dominican friends will tell you that DR is just as safe (or unsafe) as any other county so I guess book that trip! or don't! Hi friends! It sure has been a while! I have spent the last month or so very preoccupied with the thought that I might be missing out on life as I have not ventured outside of New York City in pretty much 3 months. And while spending my days visiting rooftop wineries, frolicking ( my favorite word ever) in Central Park, throwing a fabulous rooftop surprise birthday party and catching up on every Netflix and Hulu show imaginable to man, I've come to a conclusion that I (and you) don't always have to leave this great city in order to wander and explore. Therefore, I've decided to bring you up to speed on my recent adventures in New York City (and 1 short drive away) and then maybe you can plan your own day (or few) of adventuring. If you live on the East Coast you know that this weekend was finally gorgeous 🌻. I hope you took that chance to explore the outdoors a little and if you did not, I totally support day indoors on the couch watching Mad Men. Have you seen? I highly recommend. However we are not here to talk about that.  We are here to talk about something I realized this morning, more accurate something I always knew and it just became clearer. Photographs pick up the slack where our memory fails. It would be impossible to remember moments from 17 years ago but when looking back at my albums they refreshed my memory making me remember where I've been and what I've done. Actually back in 2002. My first trip as an adult was Miami Beach, FL. Funny side note as I write about my first trip to Florida, I realize my last trip this past March was also to Florida. Coincidence? A sign? True destiny? What do you all think? Back to Miami: I can assure you Miami Beach in 2002 was very different than it is now. I haven't been in quiet some time but I can only imagine, that and well I've heard things. I went there with PS (as in initials not Postscript) and we had a great time, at least that's what my photos say. I still remember where we stayed although again I am pretty sure it has been remodeled plenty.
